What is a Concho? It is a decorative metal attachment used to adorn leather, wood and other crafts. Historically, Conchos were handmade decorative hardware used on horse tack and cowboy gear, originally made out silver coins. Now people use them for all sorts of things including jewelry, purses, belts and motorcycle bags and they come in all sorts of styles.
The most common attachment style is the screwback. Screwback Conchos have a small threaded post in the center back. You punch a hole in your material, put the post through your material
and use a small flat bottom screw (aka Chicago Screw) to attach it. We also have Woodscrew Conchos, Slotted Conchos and Adapters to make almost any screwback concho into a
wood screw,
slide or
cabinet pull. Our latest favorite is the Concho Necklace Adapter.
