Frequently Asked Gunleather Questions

Have been going through your web site and had a few questions regarding one of your Mexican Loop Rigs. Thanks in advance for your help.

I really like the looks of the Vaquero Mexican Loop Holster and Oldtimer Belt with Border Stamp as shown on your web site...but, I have some questions......

(1)  Can this same holster & belt combination be had, but with the holster having a double loop? Yes

(2) Later, can I add a cross-draw holster (double loop) with the same color and border stamp to this rig? Yes

(3) Is the belt lined and with what material? You can choose lined or unlined on any outfit. The fully lined belt is cut from 8-9 oz Grade A Veg Tanned USA Cow Hide and the lining is cut from a 3-4 oz Grade A Veg Tanned cowhide.

The unlined systems are cut from a special 10.5 oz Grade A Veg Tanned Cowhide. We get all of our hides in a natural finish and do all of the dye work or tooling by hand. There is about a $100 difference in price between an Unlined outfit and a Fully Lined outfit. Fully lined outfits are overall more durable and achieve a higher quality finish in appearance. Unlined outfits are more authentic to the period.

(4)  Can the belt be made with 26 cartridge loops? Yes, we add $2 a loop over 20.

(5)  Why do you call this an Oldtimer Belt?  How is it different from the other belts you have on your web site? Its an original straight cut, 2-3/4" wide belt widely used in the old west with the old style California Clipped Corner Belt Buckle. The Oldtimer Gun Belt is the Fully lined version of the Cowboy Pistol Belt which is Unlined.

Unlined rigs are traditional, simple and effective. They are far less expensive as they require half the amount of leather and time creating. Circle KB rigs are hand cut from 10-11 oz premium cowhide and finished carefully.  Unlined outfits are popular in CAS, re-enactment, movies and stage shows. Our unlined rigs are cut from authentic 1800's patterns and are great for Cowboy Action Shooting, Theater Use, Room Decor and Practical Hunting Purposes.

The Lined outfits are beautifully finished and will last for generations. They have the quality you would expect and if you are proud of the guns your holstering-why not show it with high quality gunleather.

Lined systems have a handsome stitch line throughout and offer richer oil finishes and marbled tones enhancing the natural characteristics of premium cowhide.  We are also able to provide special metal lining reinforcement in the chamber and shank areas on our A1 QuickDraw holsters that is not available in the unlined A1.
