Two basic models cover scoping needs, from the late percussion muzzleloaders through the black powder cartidge rifle era and for the early "smokeless cartridge" rifle models. Both the Long 1860's -1970's style "Wm. Malcolm"scope and the shorter late 1880's-1890s style models come with appropriate and authentically styled mounts of those periods. True to the originals, the long-tube features a graduated "rabbit-ear" rear mount, the short-tube model a "caged" rear mount. Both are adjustable for windage and elevation.

And, thanks to a unique design that permits the use of varying length extension tubes at the front, this scope can be mounted on rifles with barrel lengths from 28-34 inches using factory cut front and rear sight dovetails. Malcolm Short telescopic rifle sight is built with all the authenticity that has made our standard Long Malcolm scope such a resounding success among shooters needing a "period correct" circa 1870-1880 precision sighting system - only in a new shorter, more compact length. Measuring about 17 inches in overall length, this 3x telescopic sight is perfect for mounting on barrels less than 28 inches in length, especially on the various 22 to 26 inch barreled Lever Action Rifle models. Built with a strong 3/4" diameter steel tube, polished steel ocular and objective lens housings, adjustable focus eye-piece, fully multi coated lenses, long 4 inch eye-relief and windage/elevation adjustable external mounts.
