Long Malcolm mounted on an H&R Rifle
Circle KB Inc. is proud to bring you the finest quality reproduction vintage style riflescopes available today; the Wm. Malcom by Leatherwood! Two basic models cover scoping needs, from the late percussion muzzle loaders through the black powder cartridge rifle era and for the early "smokeless cartridge" rifle models. Both the long 1860s-1870s style "Wm. Malcolm" scope and the shorter late 1880s-1890s style models come with appropriate and authentically styled mounts of those periods.
True to the originals, the long-tube model features a graduated "rabbit eared" rear mount, the short-tube model a "caged" rear mount. Both are adjustable for windage and elevation.
150 years ago William Malcolm started building the first long range scopes. In keeping with the great interest in
blackpowder cartridge rifles, Leatherwood/HI-Lux are now offering these classic style scopes, but with modern improved optics. The scopes
are designed to be very dependable and fun for the authentic cowboy or old west shootist.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the significant differences in the barrel material strength, if the scope
is too be mounted on high recoil rifles, you must use our heavy recoil base
that has additional screw attachment (included). If it is not used the scope may pull out the
dovetail in a few rounds.
Frequently asked Questions:
What is the elevation range? Answer: Elevation range: 200 minutes for 34 inch barrel Sharps rifle, more for shorter barrel rifles.
What about PARALLAX ADJUSTMENT? Answer: These scopes don't need a parallax adjustment. We have an optical system that is designed like the originals.
It is not some "Jerry Rigged" set of lens to give a long optical system. Our objective lens has a 400 mm focal length.
This means that there is very very little difference in the focus distance for 100 meters to Infinity.
There is only a few thousands of an inch difference in the image location. Consequently we can eliminate the parallax
adjustment and much better seal the scope.
Tech Tips: Long Scope comes with Heavy Duty Base, Heavy Duty Recoil Ring and Tube Locking Clamp. To mount you will need to "Tap and Dye" two holes with the two set screws included due to the heavy recoil action. Need help? Let us know and we will get a HI-Lux technical rep to help you.

Long Malcolm - "Wm Malcolm" Telescopic Rifle scope comes with the Wm. Malcolm Heavy Duty Recoil Tube-Locking Collar. Mounting requires you to "Tap-and-Dye" two holes with the two set screws included due to the heavy recoil actions. (Alternative mounts and accessories are also available separately.
Thanks to the interchangeable sunshades, that come in 3,5,7 and 9 inch lengths, the long "Wm Malcolm" scope can be mounted on barrels ranging from 28 to 34 inches in length.

| The "Short Malcolm" is the ideal scope for mounting on late model single-shot rifles such as the .22 Henry, Winchester 1873 and 1876, Marlin 1894 and 1895. The Malcolm short also works perfectly on Stevens drop-block models, side-eject lever action rifles like the Marlin Model 39 or 336, and other vintage side-eject rifle designs and break open models. It is also a great low power hunting scope for most Black Powder Cartridge Rifle Silhouettes.
