My subject is a "mountain of a man." He is 6' 4" Charles Bolin from Deland, Florida which is located just outside of Daytona Beach. "Cypress Scout" as he refers to himself, is a member of S.A.S.S a/k/ a the "Single Action Shooting Society," a national organization of quickdraw artists and shooting competitors. S.A.S.S. members share a common interest in preserving the history of the Old West and competitive shooting. This piece is traditional oils on gesso-covered Masonite Claybord, painted to the finished edges measuring 18" x 24”.
